Penelope J. Armstead-Williams is a dancer and emerging choreographer with many dreams; she recieved her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the prestigious New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.  Penelope began choreographing in college as a member of Georgetown University's Black Movements Dance Theatre under the direction of Alfreda Davis.  Her work was selected to represet Georgetown's dance community as part of a concert celebrating the culmination of Bobby McFerrin's residency as a Davis visiting professor.  Thereafter, Penelope continued her studies at Tisch, where her work entitled Cradles for War was selected by NYU to be performed at Dance Theatre Workshop's College Partnership Series in 2007.  Upon graduation in May 2007, Penelope joined the Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco), where she continues to perform and enjoy the dance world in all of its habitats.
As a dancer, Penelope has performed works by Bridget L. Moore, T. Lang, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Hope Boykin, Christopher Huggins, the late Talley Beatty, and the late Ulysses Dove.
Having always believed in the value of returning gifts to her community, she also teaches dance and yoga to the energy transmitting people of Philadelphia and its suburbs.
