Tyrell V. Rolle was born in Key West, FL and began his dance training with Shannon Haynes at Miami Northwestern Senior High School and the Miami Conservatory under the direction of Ruth Weizen. From the start his passion for movement manifested itself in creative expression. Tyrell has set his energetic works in companies both national and abroad. He has choreographed works for The Ailey School, Cita Con La Danza, Cleveland School of the Arts, Opus Dance Theater, PPAS High School, Philadanco (Danco on Danco), Danco II, D3, Miami Northwestern, the 92nd Street YMCA, United Dancers of Miami and Michael Krop Sr. and Mahogany Dance Theater.
As a performer, Tyrell has danced with Ailey II, Opus Dance Theater and as a guest artist with Dallas Black Dance Theatre. He has received scholarships to The School at Jacob's Pillow, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Miami City Ballet, Alonzo King's LINES Ballet, Joffrey Ballet of New York and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Tyrell has also studied as a fellowship student at The Ailey School. Mr. Rolle has worked with choreographers Camille Brown, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Judith Jamison, Jessica Lang, Robert Battle and Alonzo King. He is the recipient of The Movado Future Legend Award, NAACP ACT-SO, First Lady Award and a Level 1 Arts award given by the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts.
